Lapa
Lapa is subcamp for two and half thousand scouts from the most northern districts of Finland. Naturally Lapa is situated at the northern part of the camp site as well. The color of the necker chief of the Lapa is forest green.
The leaders of the subcamp are Jouni Riihelä and Mika "Nappula" Kröger. In addition, the staff contains 14 other persons far and wide from Finland. In fact one speciality of the subcamp is that it's districts cover most of the Finland in geographical sense. The people of Lapa comes from following districts: Järvi-Suomi, Pohjois-Savo, Pohjanmaa, and Lappi. Lapa is named after legendary sea scout leader Lauri "Lapa" Winter.
Lapa has four villages (Luppo, Luhta, Letto, and Louhi) each of them are divided into seven subunits. Basically each district forms it own village, though they are positioned in opposite order as they appear on a map. Average of one to tree troops form a subunit. A preliminary map of Lapa (might change). Lapa is hiking from sunday to monday.
Our slogan "Lapa lapa!" has also a visible form as a high five (Lapa = paw in Finnish), it reflects the joy and great spirits of scouts camping in Lapa. A lighthouse will give light to our "fives" for over a week. Beacons will peep out from the gates of the villages and at corners of village kitchens.
