Hike makes the camp

On Kilke there's four hikes so that everyone can participate. The hike is called Quite-A-Hike and on every hike there is more than one thousand campers. First ones to take the hike were the campers from the sub camp Kaleva on Friday. I followed one patrol on this hike.
We were really excited - we packed our frame packs in the morning and after lunch we headed for the starting point.
We walked briskly to the first activity point where we answered questions about nature and scouting. After giving the right answers we got some metal parts and pieces of wood of which we made a plant press. After the first point we continued to the lunch point where we made pasta with sun dried tomatoes. We had to be extra careful with the trangia stoves because the forest was extremely dry after hot weather and risk of forest fire was high. With our stomachs full we continued the hike to the next activity point.
Finally we arrived to the last point where we were supposed to sleep and had our evening snack.
The night went well and in the morning we packed the lean-to in our frame packs. The days route took us via the last activity point to the finish. On the last activity point we were supposed to chop firewood with a group from Germany. It went smoothly and between chops we changed thoughts about the camp in English.
In the finish we felt tired but happy. The camp continues with resting after the hike and some light activities.
