Intercultural program

I'm sitting in a train on my way to Akaa, my hometown. It's the World Thinking Day and my local group is arranging a scout mass at church. I had to leave home early because it's been snowing very much the past two weeks and almost every train has been delayed because of snow. At least nature looks beautiful. Actually every time I walk outside I almost start singing: "I'm walking in the winter wonderland." I hope that by April nature's dresscode has changed into greenish from white.
This World Thinking Day made me think of you, my new international friends. I can't wait to tell you about the intercultural program me and my team have planned for you! Mmh, where should I start... maybe the meeting place, Play Station. Play Station is a place to be and hang out with friends. It's the intercultural base camp where you can find friends, play, get a friendship badge and so on. Then there is a chance for you to teach your traditions (dances, songs, cookings etc) in an international evening. We will send you information about it beforehand so that you'll be prepared for it :)
We offer you a chance to attend on a trip to Hämeenlinna or Kelvenne-island. The trip is volunteer-based and it will cost you approximately 25€. In Hämeenlinna you'll get to see a castle and other museums of Finnish history and have lunch in a beautiful park with great views. If you choose to attend on a trip to Kelvenne-island, you'll get to travel by ship and explore sandy beaches and green hills.
You'll also get a chance to get to know Finnish culture. You might have heard about sauna before, but have you heard about the sauna traditions and history and have you ever tried sauna? Kilke offers you a new (or maybe already familiar) sauna experience if you are interested in it.
I hope you are as excited about these programs as I am :) I wish you all a chiming spring, see you in July!
