Prepare for cold, raind and hot weather. There is no possibility to wash clothes at camp.
- A cap, a sunhat or such and a stocking cap for the Quite-a-Hike
- A jacket for breaks during the hike or such occasions
- Gloves
- Work gloves, eg. leather gloves fire valley
- A set of long underwear
- Two trousers
- A woolly
- Spare underwear and socks
- Shorts and t-shirts
- Rubber boots and woolen stocking
- Hiking boots or similar footwear and light summer shoes or sneakers
- Rain equipment
- A towel and swimming suit
Sleeping gear
- A sleeping bag
- A sleeping mattress
- A pillow, if you like.
Cutlery
A fabric bag for the cutlery:
- 2 deep plates (unbreakable, nondisposable)
- 2 mugs (unbreakable, nondisposable, you will need it also in cafés)
- A spoon, a knife and a fork (nondisposable)
- A drinking bottle, min 0.4 litres
- A tea towel
Hiking gear
- A knife
- A carrying devise - most preferably a backpack
- A small and light daypack for carrying your equipment to program valleys
- Matches
- A flashlight or other small light and spare batteries
- A compass
- A sitting pad
Toiletries, personal medicines and hygiene
- A small towel
- A wash Bag with:
- A toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- Mug
- soap (environmentally friendly)
- shampoo (environmentally friendly)
- Your personal hygiene things
- Skin cream, lip balm, strong enough sunscreen
- A comb or hairbrush
- Personal drugs and their usage instructions
- Pain killers that you are used to (such as Panadol or Burana)
- Don't forget astma and allergy medication, insulins and migraine medication
- Ordinary plasters, elastic bandage and blister plasters
- Mosquito repellent
- Sanitary protection (girls)
- Paper tissues
General equipment
- A watch
- Some spending money
- Paper (preferably a notebook or booklet) and pencils and permanent marker pen
- Blunt tipped paper scissors for Tracker programme
- Used plastic bag x 3 for Tracker programme
If you have space you can also take
- Something to read
- A songbook
- A musical instrument (guitar, mouth-harp etc.)
- Playing cards
- A bedtime toy
- Camera
- Sunglasses
- Adresses of your friends and family (for sending letters from the camp)
A special recommendation for international visitors:
- A portable radio for listening Radio Kilke
These you wont need: Electornic devices like mobile phone, MP3 players, DVD players, TV, computers. There is no possibility for camp participants to charge their electronic devices.
Put your name and number of subunit to every item. Pack everything in watertight bags.
